Tornado of Souls

Set the World on Fire:

He stood all alone. He had just been dumped off at the bus station by his ex-band members. On the eve of what should have been the biggest day of his life. The next day his ex band would go on to record their debut album, and eventually set on course to a very successful career. Not for him though. His dreams, his aspirations, and his life, were slowly smoldering…the smoke further choking the musician within him. With no money for food or even a ticket, he would board the bus…with two options. Either ride the bus back to oblivion, ignominy, and snapped guitar strings. Or to take charge and steer the bus towards his goals, keep on rocking, and set the world on fire, albeit with his guitar.

Thrashing is my Business…and the Business is Good!

Over the next few years, he would keep on trying to form a stable metal band. But it wasn’t easy. Heavy drug usage doesn’t go well with an acerbic mouth. He was known not to be able to ‘Please ’em All’. But his dream to be more famous than his ex-band, would not let him be, and he continued to write and work on his music and songs. His persistence and resilience weathered his darkest hour and he finally launched his debut album and his career. The band would go on to sell more than 35 million albums, get numerous platinum certifications, run to packed concerts, and be honored as the top 4 thrash metal band of all time. In spite of all this fame, he was not satisfied! Why? Cause during his steady rise to fame, his ex-band had treaded to become #1. They were the most successful thrash metal band of all time.

Rust in Peace

So what does this thrash metal Kane and Abel tale tell us? One can definitely find motivation and drive to success or whatever one’s goals may be. However, before you embark on your journey make sure you decide on what values are important to you. How would you benchmark your success? The metrics with which you measure success are equally important to success. If he had realized that he had achieved his goal of being more successful that where his ex-band was in 1983, he would have been able to make peace with the tornado within his soul. What about your tornado? What takes to make peace with it?

Based on true incidents and tornadoes within the author’s soul.

The Four Horsemen!!!

The first bullet…took out his sight,

Leftists claimed it was wrong; rightists, right

The second bullet…claimed his hearing,

Justice has been served, or lost it’s bearing?

The third one…numbed his actions

Commoners, perpetrators, Withholders ?Sans the executions?

The fourth bullet set his soul free,

Democracy buried? Flourished? Official decree.

What is black and white; truth and lies?

But mere specks in what Cosmic belies?
