In India, the ex president of a political party is briefing her son on the outcome of the 2020 US Presidential Elections.
Mom: So son, what did you learn from the post-election proceedings thus far? Please recount.
Son: Yes! The votes should be recounted. Cast an element of doubt!
Mom: Pappu! Focus, state the key points.
Son: ABSOLUTELY! Voting should only be limited and focused to key states.
Mom: Do you have an iota of a brain at all?
Son: Yep, even the best of brains don’t know where Dakotas are!
Mom (exasperated): That’s what happens when you don’t listen to me. Man! What am I going to do? Disown you?
Son: Right! We should not listen to the mandate, disown the poll results and file a lawsuit…
Mom (shaking her head and to herself: I think it’s premature on my part to announce your name for presidency of the party.
Son (keeps ranting on): Announce premature party victory!
Mon: Stop it! You are worse than a child blowing a trumpet.
Son (looks at Mom in a daze): Really? Trump? I thought some other president was blown in the white house…Did he ever get Billed for it?
Mom (mutters to herself): Can’t compare apples to oranges….
Son: Orange?! No mom I cannot be an orange. It is not our party color. But you are right…maybe if I am orange, I can get be the PM regardless of elections!!!
Regardless of the outcome of the US elections, what we have witnessed is mind numbing. When presented with an opportunity to wholesomely reject a highly divisive, race-baiting, xenophobic, media hating, science-blind, misogynist, lying incumbent, almost half of the nation chose to pass and endorsed him instead. Would a stronger opponent have helped? It’s anybody’s guess…but for now it just isn’t, “And justice for all”!
